Allow me to introduce myself and answer a few questions about this community.
What is ‘Making Things Better’?
For the long story, there’s an introduction email to come. In the meantime, more briefly, I’m a clothing designer, seamstress, writer, and storyteller who believes in making the world better by making *things* better. By understanding good design and ourselves, we can all lead happier lives and have a positive impact on those around us. Self-reflection, patience, and curiosity are a good place to start. I aim to show that all things can be made better by being *made* better. Does that make sense?
How often do you publish?
You can expect a free newsletter from me in your inbox every other Thursday.
Every Tuesday I’ll send out the latest post in my monthly fashion research project, In This Thread. The first post is always free, and paid subscribers will receive 4-5 posts per month delivered weekly.
You can also expect a few Notes each week with snapshots and occasional behind-the-scenes video of what is in the works!
How much is a subscription, and what does it include?
Newsletters are always free and launch every other Thursday. They are a simple snapshot of my life at the moment: what I’m reading, projects I’m working on, some personal thoughts, and a hint at what’s coming up next on the creativity pipeline of life.

Includes everything in digital access PLUS a tactile souvenir In This Thread Zine at the end of each month. Note that zines are printed to order on cardstock and sewn on my sewing machine, and slight imperfections in ink or texture may occur. No two alike! Delivered right to your door.
